Sophie Leigh McBurnie

Piri (born Sophie Leigh McBurnie) is a British singer-songwriter from Rochdale who emerged in the early 2020s with a playful, DIY-driven take on UK dance-pop, garage, and electronic music.

She first gained traction online through self-released tracks like “It’s a Match” and “Soft Spot,” later forming the duo Piri & Tommy, whose music blended club sounds with candid, conversational lyrics.

Known for her energetic performances, internet-native aesthetic, and openness about creative independence, she’s become part of a new wave of UK artists who built careers through online communities rather than traditional industry routes.
